Need to register a new student?
If you child's first language is English, you may register at Forest View
Elementary School from Monday-Thursday, 9am-3pm. If your child's first language is not English,
you must make an appointment to register your child at the DPS ESL Office,
560-2510 or 560-2137. To register, you will need a copy of the child's
birth certificate, social security card, and immunization record. You will
also need proof of residency (a lease, deed, or tax bill).
Forest View has an E-Mail List for Parents!
Forest View now has an email list through Yahoo Groups. This group is set up so that school officials and PTA board members can make announcements about upcoming school events to the group. The group is not meant to be a forum for discussion but merely an additional way of notifying the Forest View community about important school news. Sign up
Volunteer for Forest View
Forest View parents operate a concession stand at Duke basketball games. If you can help out, please contact Dave Van Wagener. The remaining basketball dates are: January 27, February 4, 13, 21, and 25, and March 6.
Forest View on YouTube!
Some Forest View students are publishing videos to YouTube and TeacherTube. Check out the Forest View YouTube and TeacherTube channels.

El Club es un lugar para los padres, madres, y otros familiares y amigos que quieren aprender como ayudar a sus niños a tener éxito en la escuela. El primer jueves de cada mes (9–11 am) nos reunimos para compartir una charla con un invitado especial. Proveemos transporte, desayuno y cuidado de niños. ¡Todo grátis y todo en español! Would you like to share a story with our students? Join us on February 9 for Around the World in 60 Minutes and Back Before Bedtime as we celebrate our multicultural heritage through literature and storytelling. This year we will also include three chapter books for discussion. The books are: The Gold Threaded Dress by Carolyn Marsden, Salsa Stories by Lulu Delacre, and Storm Warriors by Elisa Carbone.
Thanks for supporting Forest View's effort to raise money for the American Red Cross
Students raised $1000 to help the victims of the earthquake in Haiti. Our donation will be presented to the Durham chapter of the American Red Cross on the FVTV Morning News.
